This beautiful vintage writing bureau desk would make for a wonderful addition to a mid 20th century living room or home office setting. Circa 1960s.
The front of the bureau displays a gorgeous oak patination that warms the home interior.
The desk has a lock and key to the drop front, and three lower drawers to keep the interior safely stored (the top drawer is missing the interior lock).
The bureau drop front can be held open by the two hinged supports that pull out automatically when the desk lid opens.
The desk interior opens to a writing desk worktop and 11 varying sized pigeon holes, above a small drawer with a wooden handle, and a lower storage area. These are perfect for storing documents books, and writing utensils.
The front of the bureau has a smaller upper drawer, with three larger, lower graduating drawers.
All of the drawers are finished with stunning batwing drop handles.
There is a 'R.Morley & Sons' metal plaque to the back of the bureau.
This writing desk standing proudly on 4 solid feet with a lower boarder to finish.
Overall, this writing bureau is in great vintage condition, with minor signs of use and wear, as to be expected from an item with years of age (see photographs).
There are 2 small signs of veneer damage to the drop front (see photographs).
To the left most pigeon drawer, there are signs of construction nails that have come away from the wood, but is still fully functional (see photograph).
