This vintage rare Bespaq dollhouse furniture piece is a hand-painted Chinoiserie secretary desk in a 1:12 scale. The desk is made of wood and features a Victorian style, making it suitable for any room in a dollhouse. With its unique hand-painted design and antique vintage appeal, this desk is perfect for dollhouse enthusiasts aged 16 and above who appreciate finely crafted miniatures.
From learning and selling Bespaq for a short time, I am understanding how hard to find these pieces are. Please know that reflects my price. The piece is exquisite. Inside when the cabinet inner tiny door was a ziplock bag-original to the piece- containing 3 top ornate pieces. You can see this in the photo. I believe the pieces came with the cabinet as extras and 3 were given to allow for one extra. There are ONLY 2 holes in the top so there is no reason to have 3 except for an extra. The pieces do not stay tightly inside the holes. They are loose. I show the cabinet with and without the extra ornate pieces. The cabinet is beautiful and complete both ways.
In my opinion this piece has sat in the dollhouse since it was purchased. The original price tag is on the bottom. It has not been handled. It is perfect.
Also I want to note that I have sold a similar piece to this earlier and there were tiny side drawers or side wood slits on the far sides directly below the slant desk. While there is a gap here on each side, I do NOT think there was ever a wood insert. If you look back at my listing pictures, this is a different bottom. The sides are different on this example. I think the item is exactly as it should be. Please ask questions if that doesn't make sense. It is an expensive item so I want the buyer to be happy.
