A lovely pair of antique Victoria Carlsbad Austria porcelain portrait cabinet plates, made in the Carlsbad region of Bohemia around the turn of the 20th century. These romantic Victorian-era plates are a wonderful example of the portrait porcelain that was so popular for display in parlors and china cabinets of the period.

Each plate features a different portrait of a beautiful young woman. One shows a maiden with long, flowing golden-brown hair and a sheer draped gown against a warm sepia background. The other portrays a woman with auburn hair swept up in a Gibson Girl style, gazing upward against a soft glowing sky of yellow and pink.

The portraits are framed by raised gold gilt scrollwork with stylized flowers, set within a striking mottled border of raspberry, deep plum, on white. The rims have a gently scalloped, embossed edge that adds texture and charm.

These would make a stunning addition to a plate wall, Victorian décor, or a portrait porcelain collection. Please review all photos, as they are part of the description. Both plates will be carefully wrapped and double boxed for safe shipping.
