Offered is one Bachmann Spectrum HO-scale New Haven heavyweight dining car, manufacturer item 89204, lettered NEW HAVEN and numbered 903. The original box end is labeled DINER / NEW HAVEN. This is a single dining car, not a passenger-car set.

Appearance and details

The car has a green body, black clerestory-style roof and gold railroad lettering. The photographs show riveted side panels, large dining-area windows, end steps, underbody equipment and six-wheel passenger trucks. Its traditional heavyweight appearance makes it an attractive choice for a New Haven-themed collection or passenger-train display. Please use the actual-item photographs to judge the shade and finish; lighting and screens can affect color appearance.

From my collection

This car comes from my personal model railroad collection and is being offered as new old stock. I have never run it. Due to illness, I was unable to complete my planned layout and am now selling the collection I assembled for it. I would like these models to go to another hobbyist who can enjoy them.

Condition and testing

The original Spectrum box is open and shows storage-related scuffs, rubbing and edge wear. The model is presented in its fitted foam insert. My statement that it has never been run applies to my ownership; this is not a factory-sealed or independently certified mint-condition offering. I have not track-tested the car or tested any electrical equipment. Lighting operation, coupler compatibility and performance on a particular layout are not guaranteed. No specific coupler brand, minimum curve radius or factory accessory completeness is claimed.

What is included

One New Haven diner #903, its original Spectrum box and foam insert, plus the paperwork visible in the photographs. The pictured car is the car offered. Please examine the packaging photographs as carefully as the model photographs.
