Gerry Philbin (1941–2025) was a standout defensive end who played nine seasons with the New York Jets (1964–1972). A two-time AFL All-Star and All-AFL selection, he led the AFL with 14.5 sacks in 1968, helping the Jets capture Super Bowl III. Known for his relentless pass rushing, Philbin earned recognition on the AFL All-Time Team and Jets Ring of Honor.
