WWI Trench Art Bullet Crucifix German Belt Buckle Gott Mit Uns Christ Cross
| Quantity | 1 |
| Summary | Up for sale is a compelling original World War I trench art crucifix, skillfully handcrafted using brass rifle cartridges and bullet tips fused into the shape of a cross. At the intersection, it features a high-relief figure of Christ on the cross mounted over a circular center medallion repurposed from an Imperial German belt buckle (Koppelschloss), prominently bearing the motto "GOTT MIT UNS" alongside radiating rays and a laurel wreath. The reverse clearly reveals the solder joints and shell casing construction, highlighting the authentic field craftsmanship typical of wartime soldier folk art. Exhibiting a rich natural brass patina, light surface wear, and exceptional historical character, this piece is a standout addition for collectors of WWI trench art, religious militaria, Imperial German artifacts, and Great War soldier handiwork. Please inspect all high-resolution photos carefully to evaluate the condition, solder work, and fine detail. |
