Vintage Zenith Surf Automatic Ref. 02.0700.380 – Cal. 2572PC – Original Integrated Bracelet – c.1970s

A lovely vintage Zenith Surf Automatic, reference 02.0700.380, dating from the early-to-mid 1970s and featuring the distinctive angular styling and integrated-bracelet design associated with the period.

This is a desirable integrated-bracelet model that has become increasingly popular thanks to the renewed interest in 1970s sports watches.

The watch is powered by Zenith’s calibre 2572PC automatic mechanical movement, a quality Swiss 17-jewel movement running at 28,800 vibrations per hour, with central seconds, quick-set date and approximately 46 hours power reserve.

The stainless-steel case is paired with its original integrated stainless-steel original Zenith bracelet and features the characteristic TV/cushion-shaped profile. The caseback is clearly engraved “SURF – STAINLESS STEEL – 02 0700 380.”

The silver dial is a particularly attractive vintage example, featuring applied baton hour markers with dark inserts, matching baton hands, date aperture at 3 o’clock and the period Zenith logo. It has developed some attractive age-related patina, giving the dial plenty of vintage character while the original detailing and printing remain nicely presented.

Overall, the watch is in good, honest vintage condition, with age-related marks and scratches to the case, caseback and bracelet consistent with a watch of approximately 50 years old. The case retains its distinctive 1970s geometry and the original integrated bracelet completes the look beautifully.

An increasingly uncommon and very wearable vintage Zenith, combining classic 1970s integrated sports-watch styling with a high-beat Zenith automatic movement.
