A most unusual late 18th to early 19th century blown glass, half pint whiskey, flask! In the form of a Pitkin glasshouse piece of the circa 1810 era, This 5.75 inch tall by 3 inch wide teardrop shaped clear glass flask has a black and white blown glass dog sitting in the base. The dog rests on a clear glass Blob that is a kneeled to the top of the pontil. The dog is open at the head, indicating it was blown into the 18th century flask. Whether it is an end of day piece or was blown later into a much earlier, antique is unknown. The blob on which it rests appears to be the same almost flint glass coloration of its host. Regardless, both the flask and its occupant are in excellent overall condition with significant wear to the base. Buyer to pay $15.95 insured shipping within the US or 1 pounds priority international.
