Grateful Dead Fans !! - Fans of Jerry Garcia Art !!! ... and even the San Francisco 49ers too !!!! Wow indeed ... as offered here is the Vintage Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) Grateful Dead Backstage Pass ( sticker-patch / satin ) for the Oakland Coliseum " Winter Tour '94 " Show at the Oakland Coliseum in Oakland, California on December 9, 1994 ( 12/9/1994 ) !!! And my goodness my fellow G.D. Fans ... as this was a Way-Fun ! run of G.D. Cali Shows - as I was actually living in the Bay Area at this time, and was successful in catching 2 of these 4 Shows ! And, of all of the 4 Passes from this run, I think it might be pretty-easy to make the argument that This ! was " The-One !!! ". Jerry Garcia Art ! featured of a Football Player ! - and a Doggie ! - an Art Sketch / Drawing, or ... a " Jerry Doodle !! " if I may. And ... this one is indeed for the 49ers Fans - as this is Garcia's image of # 8 ! ... the one & only Steve Young ! Who, actually won the Super Bowl ( against the San Diego Chargers ) - just less than a month after ! I always thought it was kinda funny that this was used as an " Oakland " Pass - as I bet the Raiders Fans loved that ! But, you know ... Bay Area and all ! And too ... there is indeed " Quite The Story " behind this Pass, for certain. So ... as the story goes - a ' certain ' Band Member was a little disheartened by the fact that all 4 of these Oakland Coliseum Shows did not sell out ?!? So ... the Grateful Dead played one of the ' Greatest ' little pranks in a long-long time ... as before the Show before ( 12/8/94 ) they actually ' Sound Checked ' St. Stephen !!!!!!! And, you bet your bottom dollar ... as the rest of the tickets for this one were scooped-up Lightning-Quick ! Ha !!! And yes indeed, as this is a true story - and, quite the Classic !!! But ... St. Stephen never did get played at this run, or - ever again in fact. But ! ... this did add some serious anticipation to this run for the Bay Area Fans ! I myself had my heart in my throat ! - as I had tickets for the 12/11 & 12/12 Shows ... but, not the 1st two Shows -- so, I was like ... oh my gosh - they're gonna kick-down the Stephen !! - in Oakland !!! - and ... I'm going to miss it by like 1-Show ?!?! Ahhhhhhhh ... But, as it ended up being - no dice for ' anyone ' ... but, these Shows ended up being packed ! So, this was one of my close-calls - with 2/27/94 Oakland being another - but, I was in there for that-one ... 12-bars of Cosmic Charlie !!!?!! - and then ... cut-short and into Wharf Rat !?! Ahhhhhh ... It was a nice Wharf Rat though, as was that whole Red-Hot !!! G.D. Show. And, in hindsight now - this ' Event ' of a close-call on Stephen really made this run a topic of conversation - for well over 30-Years ! now - which, is pretty cool when you think of it. And, plus too ... if Oakland Shows in the '90's had the occasional label as ' extra-mellow ' - well, let me tell you ... this run was not like those ! Fans in the Bay were coming out of the woodwork ! to get inside the Coliseum for these 4 Shows. And, just to think too ... that was before there were any cell phones to really-quickly spread the word. Huh ... and I think I really-loved those days ? Ha !! You bet I did ! ... & still do !! So, yes indeed - as here is the 12/9/94 Pass - from this G.D. Folk Story ! on an Oakland run. Stranger ! opened it up, the Scarlet > Fire !!! came out to play ! - and too ... That Would Be Something !!! Grate-Times ! - to say the very-very least ... Enjoy !!!!!
