Molden material formed and as it reentered the atmosphere it rapidly cooled to form tektite.
Tektite has a unique characteristic in that when it is held up to the sun or a light source, it has a yellow color.
Tektite was formed thousands of years ago. Records indicate that humans found and used tektite as tools dating back to 4,000 and 6,000 B.C.
