RTL-SDR V4 is a professional upgraded software-defined radio receiver, iterated based on classic SDR products and optimized comerformance. It adopts the advanced R828D tuner chip and adds a built-in upconverter, effectively eliminating Nyquist folding interference around 14.4 MHz and greatly improving HF signal reception sensitivity with adjustable HF gain.
The device uses triplex SMA input design to isolate HF, VHF and UHF bands, matched with switchable notch filters to suppress interference from strong FM/AM/DAB broadcast signals and avoid receiver desensitization. Optimized power circuit reduces phase noise and heat generation. Equipped with 1PPM temperature-compensated crystal oscillator to ensure excellent frequency stability, and integrated programmable bias tee to directly supply power for active antennas and LNAs.
The durable metal enclosure acts as a heat sink to keep the device running stably for a long time. It connects via USB 2.0, supports multiple operating systems and mainstream SDR software. This receive-only device is compact, easy to carry and set up, suitable for radio enthusiasts, RF engineers, students and technicians for daily monitoring, laboratory testing and field work.

This device is receive-only, it cannot transmit radio signals.
Do not use near high-power transmitters. The maximum input power is +10dBm; excessive input power will damage the device.
It is normal that the metal shell feels warm during operation, because it acts as a heat sink.
If you connect outdoor antennas permanently, please take protective measures against ESD and lightning strikes.
Please download the latest drivers and software via the official link (www.rtl-sdr.com/QSG) for normal use.
Avoid using in humid environments or areas with strong electromagnetic interference to ensure signal quality.

The SDR-V2 radio receiver devices are all based on the RTL2832U chip as RTL-SDR receivers, but they come with different tuners: one with an FC0012 tuner, supporting 22-948.6MHz; and one with an FC0013 tuner, extending the range to 22-1100MHz and supporting L-band input.

Note: The RTL-SDRV2 can't receive shortwave, because the RTL2832U chip in the RTL-SDR itself doesn't directly support shortwave reception. It lacks the direct downconversion feature for the HF band (below 24 MHz), so due to hardware limitations, the RTL-SDRV2 can't pick up shortwave. If you want to receive shortwave, it's recommended to go with the RTL-SDRV4.
