Up for sale is an
exceptionally rare and highly collectible Antique 4-inch “QUEEN” brand
wooden embroidery hoop. Manufactured in the USA during the early 20th
century, these unique tension-wheel hoops are a prized find for sewing tool,
notion, and textile collectors. The smaller 4-inch diameter variant is incredibly
difficult to find comparfed to larger sizes, making this a spectacular addition
to any antique display or miniature needlework collection.
·
Authentic Brand Stamping: The outer
wooden hoop features a crisp, deeply stamped “QUEEN” maker’s mark.
·
Patented Hardware: Features the original
metal adjustment band and heavy-patina tension wheel explicitly stamped: “PAT’D/MADE
IN U.S.A.” The mechanism remains structurally sound.
·
Original Felt Lining: The inner wooden
ring retains its original grey wool felt lining, which was used historically to
prevent delicate fabrics from slipping or splintering.
This hoop is in
beautiful antique condition with a wonderful warm wood patina. The metal
hardware shows honest, age-appropriate oxidation and vintage character without
deep, damaging rust pitting. The wood is structurally solid with no cracks or
repairs. The original wool felt lining shows a few small historic insect
bites/missing patches as shown in the close-up photos, which is entirely
typical for a genuine textile piece of this age.
