Triceratops lived in western North America during the final part of the Late Cretaceous, alongside Tyrannosaurus rex. It belonged to the ceratopsians, a group of plant-eating dinosaurs known for their beaks and elaborate skulls. Two long horns rose above its eyes, with a shorter horn on the nose and a broad frill extending behind the skull. Researchers continue to study how these features were used, including possible roles in display, competition and defence. CollectA’s Triceratops figurine represents the animal’s recognisable three-horned profile.
