HOW TO USE UNIVERSAL UV PAG OIL

A/C compressors circulate oil together with the refrigerant. PAG (polyalkylene glycol) oil is the synthetic lubricant designed for R-134a systems, and the dye in this oil travels with it to any leak point.

Add it during recharge to track down slow leaks you cannot see. A diagnostic charge is typically 1–2 oz per circuit. For a full compressor replacement, follow the vehicle manufacturer’s spec (4–8 oz is typical). One 8 oz bottle covers several diagnostic jobs.

Find the leak: run the A/C for 10–15 minutes, then inspect fittings and seals with a UV-A light (365–400 nm). Leaks glow fluorescent green-yellow.

Grade-specific or universal? If the OEM spec is known, a grade-specific PAG (46, 100 or 150) is the first choice. For unknown systems and mixed fleets, the universal blend is the safe answer.
