Up for auction/sale is a wonderfully preserved piece of post-war model railroading history: a General Models Corporation (GMC) O-Scale "Pacific" Steam Locomotive Tender.

This kit features a heavy, highly detailed die-cast/sand-cast metal shell complete with crisp rivet lines, rear ladder, and grab irons. Built during the post-war era, it features the historically accurate thick wood-block floor insulation core chassis, robust 4-wheel scale trucks, and its original couplers.

Condition Details:

• Shell: Structurally excellent with no cracks, zinc rot, or warping. It remains unpainted in its original bare metal finish, making it a perfect candidate for custom painting or layout matching.

• Chassis: Clean underside with secure trucks. Wheels show light oxidation/patina consistent with age but turn smoothly.

• Box: Includes the highly sought-after original orange and blue GMC box end-cap stamped "TENDER KIT / PACIFIC". The box shows shelf wear, scuffs, and age-related fading typical of a 1940s item, but remains structurally intact.
