An external MOSFET enables the module to achieve high-power buck-boost output in a very compact form factor. Upon initial power-up, it operates in DCM mode with power consumption below 1 mA; after loading, it enters CCM mode, where the quiescent current reaches over 20 mA. It is suitable for applications with low quiescent power requirements. Its small size and light weight make it easy to integrate into various devices or DIY projects.

1. Maximum input and output current is 5 A (output does not exceed 5 A in buck mode; input does not exceed 5 A in boost mode). Note that operating at full current will generate significant heat. It is recommended to allow for some headroom.
2. Do not use wires that are too thin; ensure the wires can handle the corresponding current.
3. Protect inductive loads to prevent excessive back-EMF from exceeding the chip’s tolerance range.
4. The higher the power drawn by the module, the closer the current will be to the maximum current. Heat generation will increase accordingly; ensure proper heat dissipation during use.
5. Without external cooling, continuous current should be kept below 3A. Current exceeding 3A requires additional cooling; otherwise, the output will trigger thermal shutdown.
6. The operating voltage should be kept below 30V. If the supply voltage is unstable, voltage spikes exceeding 32V will trigger the chip’s internal overvoltage protection. To ensure stable operation, please allow for an appropriate margin.
