iDig XD611 Touch 2D Excavator Grade Control System
iDig XD611 Touch 2D Excavator Grade Control System
The iDig XD611 Touch 2D is an excavator grade guidance system that helps operators dig to a planned depth, distance, or slope. A display inside the cab shows the bucket’s position relative to the target grade as the machine moves. This gives the operator continuous feedback during excavation, without having to stop after every pass for a manual depth check.
Wireless sensors mounted on the excavator track the movement of the machine and its digging arm. The system uses those measurements to calculate where the bucket’s cutting edge is and shows the result on a 7-inch touchscreen. An LED guidance bar provides an easy-to-see indication of whether the bucket is above, below, or at the target.
The XD611 can work from a local reference point, such as a known benchmark, or from a rotating laser. Its Big Combo Sensor has a larger laser receiving area than the sensor supplied with the XD610, making it easier to establish a reference from a laser. Once the reference and target are set, the operator can follow the display while digging.
This guidance is useful for trenches, foundations, drainage work, grading, and other jobs where consistent depth or slope matters. It can help reduce over-digging, rework, and the number of times a worker needs to check grade near the excavation. The XD611 guides the operator; the operator still controls the excavator and bucket.
The Touch 2D system uses solar-recharged wireless sensors, so it does not require cables running along the boom and stick. It can also be moved between compatible excavators after each machine and its buckets have been calibrated. For a used system, the included sensors, display, LED bar, mounts, and cables should be checked against the seller’s inventory.
Features:
- Real-time bucket guidance showing depth, distance to target, and slope.
- 7-inch touchscreen mounted inside the excavator cab.
- LED guidance bar that helps the operator see when the bucket approaches the target grade.
- Wireless, solar-recharged sensors mounted on the excavator, with no cables running along the boom and stick.
- Big Combo Sensor with a larger laser receiving area for setting a reference from a rotating laser.
- Benchmark or laser setup for establishing the job’s starting elevation.
- Depth and slope guidance modes for trenching, grading, and foundation work.
- Depth alerts that warn the operator as the bucket approaches the target.
- Transferable system that can be moved between excavators once each machine and bucket are calibrated.
- Approximately ±1 cm (3/8 in) guidance accuracy, according to the dealer’s specifications.
