Description

GBD ROSE Conquest 1752
4-Square Dublin? Gorgeous
Mixed Grain, Great Shape!

Offering a fine looing GBD Conquest ROSE model, likely made in a early 1980’s era, unique #1752 shape. The pipe is in the start of their Oversized designs, with GBD offering three Extra Sized pipes in the following order of size smaller to bigger: Conquest, Collector, Colossus, this being the first in extra-sized rating. It’s got a unique design, I’m thinking you could say a mix of a four-square and a bent Dublin, with square shank and saddle stem. Has a O stamped on the bottom of the shank, never have been able to figure out what these letters mean, but I think they were added at the end of the 1970’s, before Cadogan made changes to the quality of the line. The bowl has nice contrast, with charcoal blacks and nut-brown and tan coloration, and lots of large birdseye and flame cross-grain, one thin fissure on shank top. The interior of the bowl is well-seasoned, and draw hole is bottom center. Stem is a well-cut saddle design, made of quality vulcanite and has no noted wear. It sports the GBD rondelle stamp. It draws easy, weight about 1.7 ounces, 48.5 grams. Carefully reconditioned, polished and is ready to smoke!

Please see my other Auctions! Combined shipping of multiple items no problem, wait until auctions end to pay, and I’ll send a combined invoice! Additional cleaning may be desired on some pipes, as I focus on the exterior reconditioning and reaming, and leave the shank interior to the new owner, pipe stand not included with any pipe. Click photos BELOW to enlarge, and see more photos! Returns OK before you smoke any pipe.
