In C is Terry Riley’s groundbreaking 1968 minimalist composition, a work that reshaped modern classical music and inspired generations of composers across genres. Built from repeating musical cells and shifting rhythmic patterns, the piece draws on structures Riley admired in North African music, resulting in a hypnotic, energetic and continually evolving sound world. Comprising fifty‑three short phrases, In C remains one of the most influential works of the minimalist movement. This edition presents the piece on black vinyl with an included insert.
