Lovely bright colour - Yellow Ochre/Orange! Exact material unknown. This design matches the now discontinued range by Matthew Williamson for John Lewis. 

Dual Function: Adapter allows the same lampshade to work as either a ceiling pendant light shade or a table/floor lamp shade. E27 or smaller E14 lamp holder. Max 60W
