Here is a fine example of cabinet sized Parian portrait bust of famed 19th century German composer, Wilhelm Richard Wagner (1713-1883) measuring 8.25” tall , with manufacturers cipher “ R & L” in cartouche at right rear shoulder, issued from the Stoke-on-Trent Staffordshire potter Robinson & Leadbeater Company , in very fine condition, with slight dust accretions consistent with age. This cabinet sized example measures only 8.25” tall on integrated socle but retains the same distortion free proportions as its 23” counterpart. This bust is featured in The Parian Phenomenon on page 235. In wonderful condition, there surely must be space on every music lovers bookshelf for this diminutive figure.
