Bayeux Tapestry – The Norman Conquest of 1066 – Vintage Color Panoramic Foldout – French & English
An unusual and beautifully illustrated historical souvenir featuring a panoramic reproduction of one of the world's most celebrated medieval artworks: the Bayeux Tapestry.
This vintage French publication, titled “Telle du Conquest dite Tapisserie de la Reine Mathilde”, presents the story of the Norman Conquest of England in a continuous, accordion-style foldout format.
Rather than individual book pages, the publication opens into one extended illustrated panorama, allowing the reader to follow the famous tapestry's narrative scenes from beginning to end.
The colorful printed illustrations depict medieval knights, horses, ships, castles, royal figures, and battle scenes associated with William the Conqueror and the events surrounding the Norman invasion of England in 1066.

Harold's travels and preparations
Medieval ships and sea crossings
Norman and Anglo-Saxon soldiers
Mounted knights and military encounters
The Battle of Hastings on October 14, 1066
William the Conqueror's victory

The continuous panorama is especially appealing for studying the composition and storytelling of the famous tapestry.
