The Game

Nine Years of Shadows (released overseas as 9 Years of Shadows) is a side-scrolling Metroidvania with striking pixel art, developed by Halberd Studios. The brave warrior Europa sets out to stop the world from being swallowed by darkness and enters Talos, an ancient mechanical giant that is the source of the curse. Fight monsters twisted by the curse, meet a cast of unique musicians, and uncover the truth behind the curse that drained the world of its color.

  • Challenging side-scrolling action: when you take damage with no energy left, you lose life; lose all of it and the game is over, restarting from your last save point
  • Explore the interior of the giant Talos and restore color to the world
