POKÉMON TRADING CARD GAME | NEO GENESIS (2001)
GERMAN EDITION | LOW POP 42 | VINTAGE WOTC HOLOGRAPHIC RARE
The guardian of the seas. An icon of the Johto generation. A vintage legend with remarkable collector appeal.
Few Pokémon embody the prestige and nostalgia of the original trading card era quite like Lugia.
Introduced during the legendary Neo era, Lugia became one of the most celebrated and recognisable Pokémon in the history of the franchise.
Presenting this exceptional 2001 Neo Genesis Lugia Holographic Rare #9/111, from the original German-language release, professionally graded PSA NM-MT 8.
What makes this particular edition especially interesting is its remarkably small graded population.
Just 42 examples of the German Neo Genesis Lugia Holo #9 have received a PSA 8 grade, according to population data recorded on 18 October 2026.
The same report records only 2 examples graded PSA 9.
These figures refer specifically to the German-language edition and its PSA grading population, not the total number of cards originally printed.
For collectors seeking something beyond the more commonly encountered English release, this German edition offers a distinctive opportunity to own an iconic vintage Lugia in a comparatively uncommon graded configuration.
PSA population figures are subject to change as additional cards are graded.
LOW POP — PSA 8 Population of 42: A notably small grading population for this specific German-language variant.
Original German Neo Genesis Holo: A distinctive European release of one of Pokémon's most iconic early holographic cards.
PSA NM-MT 8: Professionally authenticated, evaluated and encapsulated by Professional Sports Authenticator.
Wizards of the Coast Era: An authentic vintage collectible representing the early international Pokémon TCG expansions.
Legendary Artwork: Illustrated by Hironobu Yoshida, featuring Lugia against its unforgettable holographic background.
Johto Generation Icon: One of the most celebrated Legendary Pokémon from the Gold and Silver era.
International Collector Appeal: A compelling addition to a Lugia master collection, European Pokémon collection or vintage WOTC display.
Featuring the iconic artwork of Hironobu Yoshida, this card captures Lugia soaring against its distinctive holographic background — a design that has remained instantly recognisable for over two decades.
Whether you're assembling a comprehensive Lugia collection, celebrating the heritage of Neo Genesis or searching for a vintage Pokémon collectible with an unusually small graded population, this example deserves serious consideration.
