Technical Insight

A battery grip is especially useful when shooting with a DSLR for long periods. The extended handle provides an additional gripping surface, while the vertical controls allow easier camera operation when rotating the body for portrait-format photographs.

The interchangeable battery trays offer a choice of rechargeable camera battery power or readily available AA batteries, making the grip useful for extended shooting sessions and locations where charging opportunities may be limited.

The attached grip can also provide a more substantial handhold when using larger lenses, although actual balance depends on the camera and lens combination.

Who Is This For?

Portrait photographers: Enjoy more convenient vertical handling for portrait sessions and headshots.

Wedding and event photographers: Benefit from flexible power options during lengthy assignments.

Wildlife and outdoor photographers: Gain an extended handhold when working with substantial camera and lens combinations.

Enthusiasts and Nikon DSLR owners: A practical accessory for expanding the handling and battery flexibility of the D800 or D800E.
