Paul Simon’s self‑titled 1972 solo album marks a confident new chapter after the end of Simon & Garfunkel, blending folk rock, pop and Latin‑influenced rhythms with warm, intimate songwriting. The record features some of his most enduring early solo tracks, including Mother And Child Reunion and Me And Julio Down By The Schoolyard, both showcasing Simon’s interest in global sounds and inventive arrangements. The album moves between reflective acoustic pieces, vibrant horn‑driven moments and collaborations with world‑class musicians such as Larry Knechtel, Hal Blaine, Airto Moreira, Ron Carter, Stephane Grappelli and members of Los Incas. This Italian 180‑gram stereo reissue presents the album with a clean, high‑quality pressing.
