Striking Norwegian modernist brooch designed by Ben David-Andersen and made by Uni David-Andersen (Uni-D.A.) of Norway. The cast sterling silver body forms an open, organic spiderweb with flared radiating spines, centered on an oval turquoise cabochon that I believe to be amazonite, a commonly used stone in Norway’s modernist jewelry. The stone has a soft green color with pale cream patches and a glossy polish.

The reverse is stamped "UNI D-A, 925 S STERLING, NORWAY, INV. B.D.A." The brooch measures approximately 5 cm (2 inches) across and has a pin stem with a safety-style catch that works as it should. The design is consistent with Scandinavian modernist jewelry of the 1960s to 70s.

The silver has a dark, even patina that I have left as is, so it can be cleaned to taste. The stone shows a few small pale patches, which appear to be natural variation, and I see no obvious chips or cracks. There is minor wear consistent with age and use.
