The Lane Departure Warning Sensor is a high-frequency radar module that monitors the adjacent traffic lanes and blind spot areas. Mounted securely behind the rear bumper cover on the left or right side, it calculates the distance and speed of vehicles approaching from behind. It communicates directly with the main driver assistance system to trigger visual alerts in the exterior mirrors and tactile feedback through the steering wheel vibration generator.

When this module fails, the vehicle will typically disable the lane change warning, blind spot monitoring, and active cruise control functions.
