Art by Master Illustrator Roger Soubie | Original French Re-Release Poster
Up for auction/sale is a magnificent, original 1954 French Grande movie poster for the timeless cinematic masterpiece Gone with the Wind.
For this second French theatrical re-issue (following the 1947 release), the studio once again commissioned the world-renowned poster artist Roger Soubie to create stunning, romantic imagery for the campaign. Soubie’s exquisite artwork captures two iconic moments from the film:
The Classic Romance: Rhett Butler (Clark Gable) passionately leaning in to kiss Scarlett O'Hara (Vivien Leigh).
The Opening Scene: Scarlett O'Hara on the porch at Tara, courted by the Tarleton Twins.
Professional linen-backing ensures this grand piece of film history is beautifully preserved and ready for display or framing.
