This is a high-end ASUS ROG Zephyrus Duo gaming laptop with an extremely powerful Ryzen 9 5980HX processor and RTX 3080 graphics. It is being sold as spares or repairs due to a no-display fault.

Fault / History

I purchased this laptop from Facebook Marketplace. I was told that it shut down during a Windows update, and since then there has been no display output.

The laptop currently:

- Powers on
- Keyboard lighting works
- CPU warms up
- GPU warms up
- Main and second display remains black
- No HDMI output

I have deliberately not attempted motherboard-level diagnosis or repair, as this is an expensive and complex laptop and I do not want to risk causing further damage.

Diagnostics Already Tried

- Hard reset
- Disconnected BIOS/CMOS battery
- Disconnected main laptop battery
- Drained residual power
- Reseated RAM
- Removed SSDs

None of these restored the display.

Important Information

The laptop is supplied without the SSDs for data protection.

The original bottom-cover screws were lost and replaced with basic replacement screws purchased from Amazon. Please see the photographs.

The factory seal on the heatsink assembly is still intact.

I am not claiming that the motherboard, GPU, CPU, BIOS or display is faulty, as the exact cause has not been diagnosed. The confirmed issue is that the laptop powers on but currently has no display from either the internal screen or HDMI.

This is a high-spec machine with significant potential for someone experienced with laptop and motherboard-level diagnostics.
