The protagonist visits an inn—run by his mother-in-law, Konoha—to announce his marriage to his childhood friend, Kaede, who serves as the captain of the swimming team.
Kaede, known for her spirited personality, tries to push the protagonist—who retired from swimming due to an injury—back into the sport by overseeing his rehabilitation.
Later, his kind mother-in-law brings dinner to his room. Attending to him with great care, she reaches out to remove a stray grain of rice from him.
Ultimately, it turns out that Kaede is a truly devoted soul at heart; she is willing to accept anything, so long as it means the protagonist can get back on his feet.
