The Universal Audio Volt 2 Max is a next-generation 10-in / 4-out desktop USB audio interface designed for musicians, producers, songwriters, podcasters, and content creators who want professional studio sound with hands-on control. Featuring 32-bit / 192 kHz conversion, dual Tone Shaping Preamps, onboard Max compression, a full-colour Smart Display, Auto-Gain, Clip Protection, ADAT expansion, MIDI connectivity, and a built-in talkback microphone, Volt 2 Max brings a powerful recording workflow to a compact desktop format.

Built by the same Universal Audio team behind the renowned Apollo interfaces, Volt 2 Max features two digitally controlled mic preamps with 60 dB of available gain and three selectable harmonic character modes — Warmth, Focus, and Shine. These provide Tube, Solid State, and British Class-A-inspired tonal options, giving vocals and instruments additional colour and character before they reach your recording software.

Max Processing adds onboard real-time compression with six musical presets designed for vocals, guitars, bass, and other sources. Inspired by classic studio compressors including the LA-2A and 1176, these presets can be combined with the three Tone Shaping modes to provide more than 18 tonal combinations directly from the interface.

Two mic / line inputs and two front-panel Hi-Z instrument inputs allow vocals, guitars, basses, and stereo sources to be recorded simultaneously. Independent 48V phantom power is available for condenser microphones, while ADAT or S/PDIF optical input provides digital expansion for adding additional channels when your recording setup grows.

A full-colour Smart Display provides clear visual feedback for input levels, settings, and gain reduction. Auto-Gain automatically sets suitable recording levels, while Clip Protection helps manage unexpected peaks, allowing you to focus on the performance instead of constantly watching meters.

Volt 2 Max also includes MIDI In and Out, two studio-quality headphone outputs, a built-in talkback microphone, a USB hub for connecting compatible peripherals, and Loopback for podcasting, livestreaming, and content creation. Full integration with the UAD Console app and LUNA provides session recall and low-latency cue mixes for an efficient studio workflow.

USB bus power and class-compliant operation make Volt 2 Max suitable for both desktop and mobile recording. It also includes the UAD Volt Studio Bundle and a comprehensive collection of third-party software, giving you a complete toolkit of EQs, compressors, reverbs, guitar and bass amps, instruments, and production software.
