What this part does
The front left window motor drives the regulator mechanism to raise and lower the driver-side door glass. Mounted directly to the window regulator inside the door shell, it contains both the electric drive motor and an integrated control module that communicates with the vehicle's electrical network. When the internal brushes wear out or the electronics fail, the window will stop responding, move intermittently, or get stuck. A failing unit will often produce a clicking noise when the switch is activated, without successfully moving the glass.

Before you order
- Verify your exact part number against 8K0959801B. The manufacturer uses physically identical motors across different trim levels, but the internal circuit boards differ and will not communicate with your door module if the suffix letter is wrong.
- Inspect your window regulator before ordering. A snapped or tangled regulator cable will often bind the motor, making it seem like the motor has failed when the regulator is the actual culprit.
- After installation, the anti-pinch limit stops must be relearned to restore the automatic one-touch up/down function. Roll the window fully down and hold the switch for three seconds, then roll it fully up and hold the switch for three seconds.
