A landmark in electronic music, Solid State Survivor (1979) captures Yellow Magic Orchestra at their most innovative — a razor‑sharp fusion of electro, synth‑pop, early techno foundations and futuristic pop hooks. With contributions from all three members — Ryuichi Sakamoto, Haruomi Hosono and Yukihiro Takahashi — the album became a defining blueprint for Japanese electronic music and a major influence on synth‑pop worldwide. The 2015 Music On Vinyl 180g reissue restores the album with premium pressing quality and faithfully reproduced artwork.
