A pivotal moment in Weather Report’s evolution, Sweetnighter marks the band’s first decisive shift toward a funk‑driven, groove‑centric sound under Joe Zawinul’s direction. Originally released in 1973, the album blends jazz‑fusion exploration with R&B‑infused rhythms, featuring standout performances from Wayne Shorter, Miroslav Vitouš, Andrew White, Herschel Dwellingham, Eric Gravatt, Muruga Booker and Dom Um Romão. This Music On Vinyl edition arrives on 180‑gram black vinyl in a sturdy 3mm sleeve, delivering warm analogue depth across a tight 44‑minute runtime.
