in Full Morocco and executed in the Arts & Crafts manner by the London booksellers
John & Edward Bumpus of 350 Oxford Street, the binding reflects the
movement’s emphasis on organic symmetry, showcasing stylized floral motifs and interlocking
rule frames. Saintsbury provides an extensive introductory essay and detailed
literary commentary written entirely in English, while the poems themselves
remain in their original French language. Frontispiece etching illustrated by

John & Edward Bumpus, founded in 1790, was one of
London's most prestigious bookshops. By the late 19th century, their flagship
at 350 Oxford Street operated as Booksellers to the King, catering to royalty

Paul, Trench, & Co London: Full Morocco, 6 1/2 inches tall. printed on
hand-made paper, lightly marbled endpapers. Binding by John Bumpus 350 Oxford Street, with Arts &
Crafts gilt Lettering, gilt dot raised bands and gilt floral edges, with tooling
to the panels and boards. Minor loss to spine top edge. Pages clean and bright.
