Originally released in 1968 and reissued by Parlophone in 2015, Shades of Deep Purple is the debut album from British rock pioneers Deep Purple. Featuring the original lineup—Rod Evans, Ritchie Blackmore, Jon Lord, Nick Simper, and Ian Paice—the album blends psychedelic rock, proto-metal, and baroque pop. This 180g remastered edition includes four originals and four covers, including Joe South’s “Hush” and The Beatles’ “Help,” showcasing the band’s early experimentation before their heavier evolution.
