A discontinued Arc’teryx technical down vest designed to provide substantial core warmth without the bulk or restriction of a full insulated jacket.

The Thorium SV combines premium 750-fill European grey goose down with Arc’teryx Down Composite Mapping™ technology, strategically combining down with synthetic insulation in areas more susceptible to moisture. Designed for cold conditions, it can be worn as a warm standalone outer layer in dry weather or underneath a shell as an insulating midlayer when conditions become more severe.

The exterior is constructed from Arc’teryx Arato™ 40 nylon – a lightweight yet durable face fabric designed to resist abrasion. A DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish helps shed light moisture from the surface.

The insulated low-profile collar provides additional protection around the neck, while fitted gaskets beneath the arms help prevent cold drafts entering the garment. An adjustable drawcord at the hem allows the lower edge to be cinched in to further retain warmth.

Practical storage includes two zipped hand pockets and a zipped internal chest/security pocket. Corded zip pulls are designed to be easy to grip, and the full-length front zip incorporates a chin guard and protective wind flap.

Despite its warmth, the Thorium SV is lightweight and highly compressible, making it easy to pack for travel or outdoor use.
