This item is a luxury El Casco M-430 hand-crank desktop pencil sharpener, precision-crafted in the Basque Country of Spain by El Casco.

El Casco was originally founded in 1920 in Eibar, Spain, as a high-end firearm and revolver manufacturer. Following the Great Depression and the destruction of their factory during the Spanish Civil War, the company pivoted entirely to producing ultra-premium luxury desk hardware, famously adapting their revolver-manufacturing equipment to create mechanical stationery accessories. Technicians at the time famously stated that their tools were engineered so meticulously that "a staple should travel through a stapler just like a bullet through the barrel of a revolver." The M-430 desktop sharpener is universally considered the crown jewel of their heirloom line.
