I am helping a family member sell a few bikes after a bereavement, so am listing this Ducati Paso, with a BMW R100S and a Yamaha XJR400 on separate listings.  All bikes have been in a garage for some time, so require recommissioning.  The V5 document was updated in January this year, as required by the DVLA and is present.

Note:  We cannot find the keys for this bike!  I bought a used ignition barrel and key to fit, however I have been unable to take the seat off, so the barrel with key will be supplied with the bike but not fitted, as shown in the photo.

I have given the bike a quick wash and put air in the tyres, the front seems to be holding air, the back goes down slowly but both are obviously quite old anyway.  The brakes are not seized on, so the bike is relatively easy to move but I noticed the front brake lever is very difficult to squeeze, presume a suspected seized master cylinder.   I haven't made any effort to start the bike or fix anything because I do not know when the bike was last started or used on the road, however the tax disc is dated 2001, so I would assume that would be the last time.  That said, I believe the bike was purchased in January 2012, however I do not think it has been ridden in that time because there are not any historic MOT records online.

I realise that the Ducati Paso is a fairly niche machine, because they didn't originally sell well but they have quite a following now and an active Facebook group.  Now that they are considered to be slightly rare, I understand values have risen slightly but it will still be slightly borderline whether this bike would be recommissioned or used as a parts bike.  Personally I think it is too good to use for parts but obviously that is up to the winning bidder.  I started riding bikes in the early 90s and remember seeing the Paso in a magazine at the time.  Although the styling wasn't popular then, I recall I thought it looked pretty stylish as an impressionable teenager.  This was the first one I had ever seen & sat on and was pleasantly surprised by it.  I think it would look great at a local bike meet or as part of a collection.

I have tried to show in the photos small cracks in the fairings and the odd missing fastener but given its age, it is actually pretty good.  One mirror/indicator pod has obviously been painted at some point because it's not quite the right shade and the paint has crazed.  The n/s/r indicator lens is also slightly damaged.  On the plus side I believe the Conti 2-into-1 exhaust was quite a desirable addition at the time.

The reg plate is visible on the tax disc but for clarity it is K231 VVV

The bike is located in Paulerspury, between Milton Keynes and Towcester and can be viewed prior to the close of auction.
I am also happy to try to answer questions before the close of auction.

THE KEYS HAVE BEEN FOUND, ALONG WITH SOME HISTORIC SERVICE HISTORY!  Keys for the ignition and seat lock have been found, so I have connected a jump pack and managed to get the ignition to light up, as well as the headlight.  I looked inside the tank, which looks pretty clean, although the fuel is old.  I didn't make any attempt to start the bike but put it in gear and rocked gently back and forth and could hear the pistons moving, so the engine isn't seized.  I have added some additional photos.
