Offered for auction this beautiful automatic men's Longines Ultra-Chron watch with date, in a solid 14K gold case, produced in 1967-69. The watch comes with its original box and papers pictured in the listing, that make a nice collectible set.

To celebrate its 100th anniversary, Longines released the Ultra-Chron ref. in 1967. It was the world’s first automatic high-frequency wristwatch. At its core was the legendary Calibre 431, which beat at 36,000 vibrations per hour (vph) or 5Hz. This high oscillation rate allowed the balance wheel to resist shocks and positional changes much better than standard movements. Longines was so confident in this technology that they guaranteed an accuracy of one minute per month (roughly 2 seconds a day)—outperforming standard chronometer certifications of the era.

The watch comes in a nicely shaped 34 mm one-piece 14k gold case, that is in very good clean condition.

The original rare silver color mirror-like dial looks stunning, fresh and bright despite its age, the crystal is clean and free of scratches, the watch comes with a signed Longines yellow-gold winding crown.

This model is powered by a genuine built in-house Longines 431caliber automatic movement, adjusted in 3 positions. The watch is strongly running and keeping time.

The watch is supplied with a nice soft and comfortable to wear genuine suede 18 mm brown leather band with non-signed yellow gold-color buckle.
