One of a series of four Royal Doulton collectors plates by Christine Thwaites – 1987. The plate measures 20.5 cm in diameter. The words around the border are from the 2^nd part of the 2^nd verse from The Owl and The Pussy-cat poem, by Edward Lear. Here we see them in the Bong Tree groves where they meet a piggy with a ring in the end of his nose. The plate is in very good condition – it rings true and there are no cracks or chips; see very tiny scratch on the owl’s hat (last photo). Please see all the photos as they form part of the description. Thank you for viewing my listing. If you are interested in both the plates I have listed from this Owl and the Pussy-Cat Series,  will combine postage; please contact me.
