Vintage Dansk Designs Flamestone 3-Piece Coffee Service

A striking early Danish Modern coffee service by celebrated designer Jens Harald Quistgaard for Dansk Designs.

Offered here is a vintage Dansk Designs Flamestone three-piece coffee service featuring Flamestone's distinctive deep brown matte exterior, contrasting light glazed interiors, sculptural forms and vertical fluted decoration.

The set includes:

Tall Lidded Coffee Pot — approximately 13.5 inches tall
Creamer — approximately 4.25 inches tall
Lidded Two-Handled Sugar Bowl — approximately 3 inches tall to the top of the lid

All three pieces bear the matching gold DANSK DESIGNS DENMARK IHQ backstamp.

The IHQ initials identify designer Jens Harald Quistgaard, one of the most important figures in Scandinavian Modern design. This handsome Danish-made service displays beautifully as a coordinated three-piece set.

Condition

Vintage condition with light surface wear consistent with age and use.

The sugar bowl has a small light-colored glaze/finish skip on the exterior (not a chip), shown clearly in the close-up photograph.

The sugar bowl also has a small hairline crack extending downward from the rim. This area is also photographed closely for full disclosure.

No other chips or cracks were observed. The coffee pot and creamer present very nicely, and the original gold Dansk/IHQ marks remain readily visible.

Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the description and show the actual set you will receive.

A beautiful and collectible example of Mid-Century Modern Danish Modern Dansk design, especially appealing with the coffee pot, creamer and covered sugar bowl remaining together.
