Offered is an exceptionally scarce 1964 Cleveland Browns rookie-year team-issued 7 3/8 x 9 3/8 photograph of Pro Football Hall of Famer Paul Warfield, personally autographed and authenticated by James Spence Authentication (JSA).
This is NOT an ordinary modern autographed Warfield photograph. It is an original 1964 Cleveland Browns team issue featuring Warfield during his first season in professional football.
Why this photograph is significant:
1964 Rookie-Year Team Issue: Issued during Warfield's rookie season with the Cleveland Browns, following his outstanding collegiate career at Ohio State.
Original Period Format: Features the classic Browns player-identification line, "PAUL WARFIELD — E — CLEVELAND BROWNS," printed below his portrait.
Authentic Autograph: Warfield's signature appears prominently across the lower portion of the photograph.
JSA Authenticated: Certification CS11050.
Historic 1964 Season: Warfield was a member of the Cleveland Browns team that defeated the Baltimore Colts 27–0 in the 1964 NFL Championship Game.
Hall of Fame Career: Warfield became one of football's greatest receivers, winning championships with Cleveland and Miami and earning induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1983.
The combination of an original rookie-year team-issued photograph and a genuine Warfield signature makes this a particularly desirable format for advanced Cleveland Browns, vintage NFL photography, and Hall of Fame collectors.
Authenticated Warfield autographs are available on modern photographs, but signed examples of this specific 1964 team issue appear considerably more difficult to locate. The exact surviving population is unknown.
