One of the most sought-after of all modern coarse fishing books. A true classic of specimen angling from most certainly one of the very best all-rounders of a generation, the late Terry Lampard. An excellent book that is becoming increasingly hard to find.

"Terry Lampard was born in Maidenhead in 1947. Despite the close proximity of the river Thames, fishing was an activity often watched but never indulged in, apart from chasing the minnows and sticklebacks across the shallows with the obligatory minnow net. It was in 1960, following a family move to the city of Winchester, that he found himself living with carrier streams of the river Itchen flowing past both ends of the road. With the freedom to come and go at will, fishing for the brown trout stocks of the local free (and sometimes no-so-free) stretches of the Itchen became an overriding passion during the school holidays. A chance meeting with a local carp angler and an accepted invitation for a night's fishing on a local carp lake fired an interest in species other than trout. In the late seventies a move to live in Dorset, close to the upper reaches of the Dorset Stour, meant that this fabulous river was now his home water with the legendary Hampshire Avon just a 40-minute drive away. He soon developed an obsession for all freshwater species. Now, more than 45 years later, he still has the same obsession with countless days, even weeks, spent on the banks of both rivers and lakes. Terry is also five times winner of the famous Drennan Cup competition, run through the pages of Angling Times to select the most successful specimen angler of the year. Terry has seen and caught specimen fish of most species way beyond his wildest dreams. This book charts that journey through some of the landmark waters fished and the successes and failures encountered along the way. Although not intended to be an instructional book, hopefully the reader will pick up tips and examples that will help make their own journey through big fish angling a success." (Publisher's blurb).
