Original early 1900s comic humor postcard featuring an amusing illustration of a man wearing an enormous pair of striped trousers with a conspicuous patch.

The caption reads:

“May the good luck that some folks have brought to their doors, be nought to compare, or a patch upon yours.”

A terrific example of the playful visual humor and wordplay found on early 20th-century postcards. The colorful artwork, exaggerated trousers and “patch upon yours” punchline give this card wonderful character.

The reverse is divided for correspondence and address and has been mailed to Shickley, Nebraska, retaining the original handwritten message, address, cancellation and green one-cent stamp.

A fun addition to a collection of antique comic postcards, humorous postcards, fashion/clothing humor, good-luck cards, or early American ephemera.
