This kit uses the same inside pivot washers as from my other listing. The brass and nickel silver pins are each 1/16" X 4" long.

Collars are made by using different size brass and or stainless steel washers. There are enough materials to make a minimum of 6 full restorations and as many as 8 depending on how you pick and choose what to use on each razor. I included enough extra inside pivot washers to do at least 8.

Two stainless steel washers or a brass and stainless steel washer both stack nicely. Two brass aren't as nice together but they can also be stacked as a pair.

On larger blades 7/8" and larger three washers stack nicely. To accomplish three washers stacked there needs to be brass and stainless steel. I put some pictures of the different options.

When I peen the pin after putting the pin through the scales I start with the pin high. I peen a little and then file some off. Peen again and file more off so the pin is now where I want it to be. It does two things. Locks the pin in place tighter and allows more accurate peening.

Once they are peened and polished they blend well together. Then the last thing I do is peen the pins again to put some dents back into the pin. I've used these for about fifteen years now. I always peen one end first so that end will stay on the pin while putting it through the scales. I made a simple jig that the pin drops into leaving enough out for the washers. Then I peen that. Having the pin inside the hole keeps it from bending while peening the one end. After peening the other end then I go back and peen both ends until they are the right height above the washers. Pictures are included that show how this is done.

If you have any questions please email me. I will usually respond within a few hours day or night.
