Among Paul Reed Smith guitars, the "SE Custom 24" is highly popular for its 24-fret design and wide range of sound variations. This time, we're introducing the "35th Anniversary SE Custom 24," a limited edition model produced in 2020 to commemorate PRS's 35th anniversary.
It features a faded blue burst finish, resulting in a vibrant look that highlights the wood grain. The body is constructed with a mahogany base combined with maple and figured maple veneer.
The mahogany provides a thick mid-low range, while the maple adds a clear attack, resulting in a well-balanced sound that maintains definition from chords to leads. The figured maple veneer top, along with the faded blue burst coloring, enhances the guitar's striking appearance.
The neck is made of maple with a 25-inch scale. The rosewood fingerboard and 24 frets allow for playing with the wide tonal range characteristic of the Custom 24.
It's easy to handle lead playing using the higher positions, offering the modern playability typical of PRS guitars. This guitar features TCI “S” Treble/Bass pickups.
In addition to the thick, characteristic humbucker sound, this model also supports coil tapping, allowing you to switch between a thick, powerful humbucker sound and a lighter, clearer tone. While it has a basic two-humbucker configuration, its versatility in sound shaping is a unique feature of this 35th-anniversary model.
Regarding its condition, there are some scratches, dents, tarnishing of parts, and rust from use, but there is no major damage that would hinder playability. The frets have approximately 80% remaining.
The truss rod has ample adjustment range in both tightening and loosening directions and functions without problems. There are no replaced parts or modifications; this is an original, fully functional instrument.
This limited-edition 35th-anniversary model boasts TCI “S” pickups and a wide range of sounds thanks to coil tapping. Its beautiful faded blue burst finish is also eye-catching.
