This piece is a stunning Fenton Art Glass Heart Shaped Trinket Box. This item is a match for the Fenton Art Glass Ring Holder that is also listed.

Fenton Glass was the largest producer of colored glass in the United States and has played a prominent role in the history of antique art glass in our country.

This piece is unique in that there are two colored layers of glass that made up the

heart-shaped "box" portion of the item (see photo 3). The top half of the box is an iridescent pale pink, while the bottom half is a deep pink (some argue that it is lavender). The glass in the "box" portion of the piece is ribbed and scalloped for additional interest.

The top of the trinket box has beautiful roses and leaves molded into the glass. The piece is hand-painted with mauve and purple flowers with green leaves. This is one of the rare Fenton Art Glass pieces that does not have the signature of the painter. The most unique feature of the top is the applied gold glitter that covers every one of the molded scallop designs on the top. The gold glitter also accents the painted flowers (see photos 6 & 7).

The trinket box measures 4 inches tall, 4 inches wide, and 1 and 3/8 inches deep. It is of a significant weight at 11.3 ounces. The Fenton logo is impressed into the glass on the bottom of the piece (see photo 4). This piece is preowned, in excellent, like-new condition. It has not been handled and has been kept in a curio cabinet.

Made in the United States, this is a stunning item that has many intricate details. This stylist piece is a perfect addition to any decorative glassware or trinket box collection. It showcases the fine craftsmanship that is a hallmark of all Fenton Art Glass pieces.
