Japanese fine ceramics: an Imari Nabeshima Ware reticulated dessert plate made by the prestigious Seizan Kiln (青山窯) in Okawachiyama, Imari, Japan.
This distinctive pattern is officially known as the "Black Glaze Pierced Human and Horse Painting" (黒釉切透人馬絵). The center features a stylized cobalt blue underglaze depiction of a figure handling two horses.
The wide, dramatic rim showcases a striking openwork/pierced reticulated technique finished in a glossy black glaze with a delicate hand-gilded gold edge.
The bottom proudly bears the authentic underglaze blue Seizan Nabeshima ("鍋島青山") kiln mark.
• Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No chips or cracks. Gold trim is beautifully intact. (Please inspect all photos carefully to confirm condition details).
• Measurements: Exactly 5.25 inches (approx. 13.3 cm) in diameter — perfect as a decorative display piece, a confectionery dish, or small dessert plate.
A wonderful and rare addition to any collection of fine Japanese porcelain, Arita, or Nabeshima ware!
